Terms of Service
These terms are intentionally short. This site is a free, independent editorial publication. There's nothing to sell you, nothing to sign up for beyond an optional newsletter. Using the site means you accept these terms.
01 · what this is
SIGNAL//NOISE is an editorial publication auditing data practices of professional networks. We write about LinkedIn, Blind, Xing, Peerlist, and related platforms. We do not operate, control, represent, or have commercial relationships with any of them. Mentions are editorial commentary, comparison, and analysis.
02 · not affiliated
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with: LinkedIn Corporation, Microsoft Corporation, Teamblind Inc., New Work SE, Peerlist, Recruit Holdings, Indeed Inc., Glassdoor Inc., or any other third party referenced on the site. Company names, product names, and trademarks are the property of their respective owners. References are made only for identification, comparison, and honest commentary under applicable fair-use doctrine.
03 · accuracy and no warranty
We try hard to keep every claim on this site factual as of the "last updated" date on each page. Platforms change their features, pricing, policies, and data practices constantly — sometimes silently. Verify any claim that matters to your decisions directly with the source. The site is provided "as-is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
04 · not professional advice
Nothing on this site is legal, financial, career, tax, or security advice. For advice in any of those domains, consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction. The privacy assessments on these pages are editorial analysis, not legal opinions.
05 · how you may use the site
You may read, share, and quote our content with attribution for personal and non-commercial purposes. You may not:
- Scrape at high volume or in a way that impacts availability for others
- Republish entire articles without written permission
- Use the site in any way that violates law or the rights of third parties
- Attempt to bypass security measures or access non-public areas
06 · third-party links
The site links to third-party resources — platforms we audit, news sources, academic papers. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of any external site, or for changes those sites make after we link to them. Exercise your own judgment when clicking out.
07 · intellectual property
Original text, diagrams, and design are © 2026 SIGNAL//NOISE. You are granted a limited license to read, share with attribution, and quote for non-commercial purposes. For commercial reuse, ask first.
08 · newsletter
The monthly audit log is opt-in with double confirmation. Every email contains a one-click unsubscribe link. Subscriber lists are never sold, rented, or shared. See privacy policy for processing details.
09 · limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, SIGNAL//NOISE and its contributors are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from use of the site or reliance on its content. Where any limitation is unenforceable in your jurisdiction, it applies to the maximum extent allowed.
10 · changes
We may revise these terms. Material changes will be posted with a new "effective" date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
11 · governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the editorial team's place of operation. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer protection law in your country that provides otherwise.
